I drew this for my five-year-old, and also to see if hair technique translates to fur. The conclusion: fur is harder, but in some ways a bit more forgiving.

i cant put my finger on it but it lacks a bit of depth...

Oh, thanks. Yeah, I think you're right -- I didn't do a global adjustment of the shading on this one, and it must show. I usually go back over a drawing and match tones across the drawing, but this time I was a little worried about screwing up the fur, so I didn't do it.

I'm also not happy with the mouth, so I may go back and work some more on it. Thanks for the concrit, it's really helpful!

Thank you! Glad you liked. Little kittens are so sweet. It almost (but not quite) makes me wish I hadn't had my kitties fixed.
