couple mistakes you have here - the one is twisted nose, than his right eye is a little to high on face which is not working fine with perspective that is on this picture, and neck doesn't end up in shirt like this...there must be a little curve not the edge adn try to work on 3dimensionalty of neck just a little bit...now kinda looks like it is flat ...otherwise...really good job and keep it up.

enjoy

Hey, thanks! You could be right about the eye. I was thinking it was the mouth that was off, too far down on his right side, which makes the eyes seem off kilter. I was referencing a photo, so I should go back and compare the two to see if I can figure out which it is.

As for the nose, he does have a bizarre twist in it, but of course I may have exaggerated it unduly. I tend to see quirks and flaws in faces, occasionally even when they're not there.

In any case, I thank your for sharing your critical eye. I've never taken a drawing class or had any sort of formal instruction, so I really appreciate all the help I can get.

Thanks! I had fun with the hair.

Thanks! Glad you liked.

you have learned that on your own...that's good to know...becouse what came out of it is great...all congrats...otherwise i would like to suggest to you that you try to draw live models and not drawing something taking photo as a reference. that's how your skills will be even better...if you ever need any help with anything that concernec drawing humans or portraits you can always send me a not...i'll be glad to help...enjoy

Thanks. Yes, I'm doing a fair bit of drawing from life these days. Mostly quick sketches, as I don't have anyone to pose for me, so I just try to capture the essence of a moving target with a few quick lines. Or I draw pieces of myself that I can see, like my hands. I was thinking of uploading some of my quick sketches to my scraps gallery, but I haven't got any of them scanned yet.

Thanks again, and thanks for the offer of help!
